Maurice Switzer
*A citizen of the Mississaugas of Alderville First Nation in southern Ontario, Maurice Switzer has Anishinabek, Mohawk, and Jewish ancestry.
*Currently director of communications for the Union of Ontario Indians, the political organization representing 42 member First Nation communities of the Anishinabek Nation.
*Previously (1997-2000) director of communications for Assembly of First Nations .
* Part-time communications professor at Huntington University, member of Cambrian College journalism program advisory committee
*2003 inductee into Nipissing District Human Rights Hall of Fame
*A journalist since 1965, first aboriginal publisher of a Canadian daily newspaper, served as reporter, editor and publisher with Belleville Intelligencer, Oshawa Times, Timmins Daily Press, Sudbury Star, Winnipeg Free Press
* Living in North Bay with wife Mary; three children, three grandchildren
